Director - Music
Job Description The Director of Music will manage the Day-to-Day music production and supervision for all series and Disney Channel Original Movies.
Responsibilities DISNEY CHANNEL & DISNEY XD
Administer all payment paperwork for composers, songwriters, producers, singers, studios, musicians, collecting invoices for payment and coordinating that process with production, music legal and finance.
Meet with new music production houses, libraries, songwriters & producers and make recommendations for future partnerships.
Meet new talent, songwriters & producers for future opportunities.
DCOMS
Budget scripts for production and post-production music needs.
Work with production to provide any playback materials for rehearsals and the shoot.
Attend spotting session and mixes.
Supervise source music needs and clear with S&P and music clearance.
Provide Temp Score music, and work with editors on any temp songs they may need.
SERIES
Work with legal and production executives to ensure proper paperwork is issued for Work for Hires, On-
camera ditties, Vocalists etc.
Manage creative needs for original & licensed songs.
Research and hire composers for new series.
Oversee series composers, scoring notes process, and attend spotting sessions and mixes.
ABC FAMILY
Movies & Series:
Back-up on spotting sessions, mix sessions and on-camera shoots upon request.
Assist in researching source music upon request.
Basic Qualifications A minimum of 10 years experience in music production and supervision
Experience working directly with new talent, songwriters and producers
Experience with spotting sessions and mixes
Experience working with Standards and Practices for clearances
Create Temp Score Music
Preferred Education MBA
Required Education Bachelors Degree in Music or equivalent experience
