The Disney ABC Television Group (DATG) is home to all of The Walt Disney Company's worldwide entertainment and news television properties. The Group includes the ABC Television Network (including ABC Daytime, ABC Entertainment Group and ABC News divisions); the Disney Channels Worldwide global kids’ TV business, ABC Family and SOAPnet; as well as television distribution divisions Disney ABC Domestic Television and Disney ABC ESPN Television. The Disney ABC Television Group also manages the Radio Disney Network, general interest and non-fiction book imprint Hyperion, as well the Company’s equity interest in A&E Television Networks.

Responsibilities The intern for ABC Family’s Business Management and Strategy group will gain insight into how a top basic cable network operates as a successful business unit within the Walt Disney Company. They will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that encompass long range planning, process improvements, and new business initiatives. This position is uniquely situated within ABC Family since the department has direct contact with all groups within ABC Family and visibility to the larger Disney/ABC Networks Group.
Responsibilities may include:
• Support Vice President with market analysis and financial modeling for key finance and strategy projects.
• Serve as project team member for a variety of strategic projects and initiatives.
• Access and analyze critical media and entertainment trends worldwide.
• Research, define and analyze growth opportunities for ABC Family in new markets (domestic & international)
• Work with the ABC Family management team in driving the strategic development process.
• Help create and analyze long range growth plans.
• Create focused documentation from a variety of sources (e.g. collate performance data into clear and concise documentation for further discussion).
Basic Qualifications •All students must be eligible to work in the US
•All students must be pursuing a MBA degree and currently enrolled at an accredited business school
•All students must be available to work a minimum of 16 hours a week (2 full 8 hour days) while in school
•All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
•All students must be proficient with Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
•High level of proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting
•Understanding and ability to create financial analysis (P&L, NPV)
•Proficiency in Visual Basic
•Ability to craft concise recommendations based on thorough business and market analysis.
•Interest in the global marketplace
•Strong proficiency with both PowerPoint and Keynote to create, manipulate and modify presentation materials for a variety of audiences
Preferred Qualifications •Students currently in their 2nd year
•Previous internship/work experience within the entertainment industry
•Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Additional Information Location: Burbank, California. Students must provide their own housing and transportation.
