Job Description The Operations Manager will assist the Regional Director with tasks including but not limited to training and development of Promotions personnel across the Central Region, overseeing the promotions department, managing the station’s budget and expenses, and additional responsibilities as needed.
Responsibilities • Develop and oversee a full time staff of 3 and a part-time events staff of 20-30 employees and interns.
• Oversee all aspects of Chicago’s Promotions Department including event planning for over 250 events annually.
• Oversee Radio Disney’s annual participation in some of Chicago’s signature, high traffic events.
• Develop key relationships with large community event organizers throughout the Chicagoland area in order to help the station generate revenue
• Assist the Regional Director with training and development of Promotions personnel across the Central Region as well as lead the monthly Promotions Managers call for the Region
• Along with the Chicago Station Manager, manage the station’s budget and station expenses. Tasks include but are not limited to processing invoices, creating purchase orders and performing month and quarter end expense analysis
• Manage the day to day operations of the station and the station’s facilities
Basic Qualifications • A minimum of 2 years of event management and/or promotions experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in Outlook (create/edit emails and appointments), Word (create/edit documents), Excel (create/edit documents) and Power Point (create/edit presentations)
Preferred Qualifications • A minimum of 4 years of event management and/or promotions experience.
• Experience working in media promotions – TV/Radio
• Experience managing a budget, including P/L responsibilities
• Experience leading a promotions team or event staff
• Experience with SAP
• Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Preferred Education • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
