Responsibilities The Broadcast Network Engineering (BNE) department provides advanced media technology engineering and support to DATG business units. The technology footprint is wide ranging from broadcast, post productions and digital media to infrastructure services. The department provides direct hands on support to operators and for computer systems.
The ideal intern should be familiar with video and audio codecs, have programming skills, comfortable with multiple computer operating systems or have knowledge of IP networking technologies. Responsibilities The goal of the intern position at General Hospital is to assist the production office in their daily tasks. These tasks may include copying, distributing, research and various other types of office work. Interns are also responsible for providing set tours to studio guests. The West Coast Operation Manager will manage and be responsible for the broadcast and distribution in a 24 x 7 environment. Responsibilities The Manager will be responsible for delivering flawless execution of a broadcast as well as administering network policies and procedures. The position will act as an interface between client groups for program/content management and broadcast distribution. The Manager should be educated and familiar with all aspects of live and packaged Program content for a Television Network broadcast. This position will have oversight for automation program lists, working with all areas of Program Operations in matching program formats to the broadcast lists, changing program lineups when necessary, supporting the on-air control rooms, our affiliated stations and interacting with New York counterparts.
Basic Qualifications Harris Automation background a plus
Knowledge of Nexio and K2 servers also a plus
Familiarity of broadcast devices typical in a television facility
Understanding of Broadcast Logs and timings a must
Windows XP/NT/2000/2003
Attention to detail and able to work under deadline pressure. Must be organized and be able to clearly convey information to co-workers as well as control room personnel. Must work well independently and unsupervised as well as in a team. Must have the ability to make quick decisions and exercise judgment to ensure all on-air broadcasts are error free.
Preferred Qualifications A minimum of 5 years professional broadcast experience is preferred.
Required Education College degree related to broadcasting or equivalent experience.

- Technical Skills: Background knowledge of broadcast operations and facilities. Familiar with multiple tape formats, specifically D-5, IMX and Digibeta. Ability to comprehend video waveform monitor, vectorscope and audio metering. Computer literate.

- Non-technical Skills: Candidate must have the ability to perform independently or as part of a goal-oriented team. Excellent interpersonal and professional skills with client interaction required. Must be organized, detail oriented and possess excellent oral and written communications skills. Must have pragmatic decision making abilities.
