Broadcast Producer
Job Description The Broadcast Producer writes, edits and produces all back of the book segments for our 1½ hour news program World News Now. This position requires a strong understanding of line producing, solid editorial judgment and effective leadership skills. Candidates must be willing to work overnight hours.
Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Leads writers and editors in back of the book stories and segments.
•Manages our live segments produced by the Digital News Associates.
•Oversees and coordinates all pre-tapes for World News Now
•Serves as main fill-in producer when lead broadcast producers are out.
•Offers creative and innovative ideas for better story-telling.
•Handles breaking news and special events with limited time.
Basic Qualifications BA or BS from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years experience working in television news
Non-Technical Skills: Ability to work in fast paced, deadline oriented news environment; strong editorial and writing background; strong leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications - Experience producing a live news show from the control room
- Professional experience working with AVID
Required Education BA or BS from an accredited college or university
