Digital Reporter, Show Integration
Job Description ABC News Digital is hiring a Digital Reporter responsible for generating story ideas, reporting, and writing stories for GoodMorningAmerica.com.
Responsibilities The ideal candidate has experience writing for a major market news organization, and is comfortable covering stories on wide range of topics. He/she should have excellent editorial skills and news judgment and be able to handle multiple daily story assignments in addition to content management of GoodMorningAmerica.com. Candidates should have great familiarity with content management systems and blogging software such as WordPress. Particular emphasis will be given to those with experience writing for a digital audience.
Basic Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience in digital media
Non-Technical Skills:
-Must be able to develop, pitch and write stories in all coverage areas
-Original writing, editing and reporting skills
-Ability to balance priorities, multiple projects, and tasks
-Effective communicator
-Well-organized and capable of coping with changing priorities and work requirements
Preferred Qualifications 1 year of experience creating online news content
Non-Technical Skills:
-Superior news judgment and ability to find primary sources for daily and breaking news stories
-Creative, dynamic idea generator who can pitch unique content and concepts
-Familiarity with content management systems, blog software such as WordPress, or other digital expertise
-Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
