Senior Manager - Sales Research (Digital)
Job Description The Senior Manager is responsible for syndicated and primary research in support of digital media platforms for the ABC TV Network division, particularly internet, mobile, and VOD. In addition, the Senior Manager will be responsible for strategic research on trends in new media, and providing actionable recommendations to management and contribute relevant research to sales proposals.
Responsibilities 1. Provide regular reports on consumer usage of ABC digital properties. Inform management of current performance and long term trending for ABC.com, ABCNews.com, and the corresponding mobile sites, and VOD content.
a. Place the ABC usage information in the wider context of the digital media landscape.
b. Provide competitive context to ABC usage.
2. Conduct research to gauge consumers' reaction to ABC digital platforms and content. Develop best practice methodologies to provide marketing insight to various divisions. Ensure consumer and brand insights are communicated to stakeholders.
3. Devise and implement longitudinal research plan around digital consumer segments. Profile the digital consumers, educate management of relevant trends, behavioral shifts and implications as audiences evolve and adopt emerging platforms
Basic Qualifications • Project management
• Data analysis
• Strong background in quantitative and qualitative research methods
• Excellent ability to present research both orally and in writing
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Self-Starter
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Nielsen and ComScore digital research tools required, SPSS a plus
• 5-7 years in media, entertainment, or advertising research
Required Education • Bachelor’s degree
